WHERE?
We acknowledge that our experience takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the snpintktn in the syilx Okanagan Nation, Penticton Indian Band.
Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park, located in the wonderful Okanogan, BC. We will be climbing in the Skaha Bluffs Park while camping and accommodating north in nearby lake town, Penticton. Skaha Bluffs Park provides a variety of recreation opportunities including hiking, rock climbing, and wildlife viewing while also protecting habitat for a variety of species at risk. Skaha Bluff Park is home to world-class climbing opportunities. We will be experiencing within lands that hold tremendous spiritual and cultural significance to the Okanagan Nation.
The Okanagan is a one of a kind place where the desert meets forest. A wide diversity of flora and fauna can be found that shows where these two biomes meet. Skaha bluffs has some of the best climbing to be found in Canada. Find yourself climbing gorgeous vertical gneiss rock walls, looking over forests and lakes. Learn about the indigenous knowledge of the area and ground yourself with the relationship between all living things.
WHAT?
An incredible week of learning to rock climb! Supported by our RLAG leaders and each other! This experience includes five days of camping, rock climbing, hiking, educational sessions of local flora and fauna and Learning On The Land session with Anona Fawn Kampe. We are combining culture with connection to nature with challenges.
Our adventure has been designed to challenge, celebrate and connect you in many different ways. We will be physically and mentally challenged as we learn to rock climb, which will empower us, connect us to each other, ourselves and the nature we are in. Most importantly we are celebrating each other and HAVING FUN!
We will be talking and educating about our climbing gear, trail and mountain safety, adventure planning tools and how to have a successful adventure.

WHO?
For our active outdoor community! For those looking to try rock climbing and for those looking to advance their skills. Rock climbing experience is not required and will suit those from beginner to intermediate. This is a female identifying only trip.
Please note, we will be experiencing some rock climbing each day of the trip.
YOUR ITINERARY
YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 - ARRIVAL & WELCOME
- Welcome! Today you will be arriving and checking into the campsite around 10:00am.
- Once everyone has arrived we will have a round of group introductions with our Leader Nicole.
- We have time to upack, set up campsites and settle in.
- Around 12:15pm we will have our first climbing gear check.
- 12:45pm lunch time at your leisure.
- 2:00pm we pack up our gear and head to Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park and set off for our first climb.
- 2:30pm arrive at the parking lot, land acknowledgement and head out for our first climb on Another Buttress
- After about 30 minutes of walking we arrive at our first climb. Nicole sets up the ropes and explains operations and gear.
- 3:30pm we have our climbing demo and first climb!
- We have the evening to enjoy here, taking turns climbing. Around 6:00pm we pack up and head back to camp.
- Tonight we will enjoy a warm group dinner, cooked and provided by Nicole.
- Served around 7:15pm
- 8:15pm evening meeting with our plan for tomorrow, appreciations and anticipations.
- Following is relaxing time and head to bed for a full night's sleep.

DAY 2 - GO ANYWHERE CRAIG
- Breakfast of your choice will be enjoyed at 8:30am this morning.
- 10:00am we pack up our gear and head back to Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park trail head.
- 10:30am we arrive at the trailhead, we begin with land acknowledgment and then hike out to Go Anywhere Crag
- We will be walking for about 40 minutes to reach todays first climbing area. Nicole will set up the ropes and prepare the gear.
- 11:30am we begin our climb. Today we will have lessons on belaying, tying in, and any other climbing skills that the group is interested in.
- 12:30pm lunch time, at your leisure.
- 1:00pm climbing opportunities begin again.
- 3:30pm clean up of gear begins and we pack up and head back to the trail head.
- 5:15pm we arrive back at camp, we have time to unwind, unpack, shower, head to the lake for a cold dip!
- 6:00pm you are free to enjoy dinner at your leisure, and following for the rest of the evening includes, group meeting, appreciations, “hot seat”, discussing the plan for tomorrow.
- The rest of the evening is for self care and bedtime.

DAY 3 - DIAMOND BACK CLIMB
- Breakfast of your choice will be enjoyed at 8:30am this morning.
- 10:00am we pack up our gear and head back to Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park trail head.
- 10:30am we arrive at the trailhead, we begin with land acknowledgment and then hike out to Diamondback
- We will be walking for about 25 minutes to reach today's first climbing area. Nicole will set up the ropes and prepare the gear. If anyone is interested in helping and learning rope set up today is the day!
- 11:o0am we begin our climb. Today we will have lessons on anchor set up systems/ lead climbing, and any other climbing skills that the group is interested in.
- 12:30pm lunch time, at your leisure.
- 1:00pm climbing opportunities begin again.
- 3:30pm clean up of gear begins and we pack up and head back to the trail head.
- 5:15pm we arrive back at camp, we have time to unwind, unpack, shower, head to the lake for a cold dip!
- 6:00pm you are free to enjoy dinner at your leisure, and following for the rest of the evening includes, group meeting, appreciations, “hot seat”, discussing the plan for tomorrow.
- 8:00pm we will go for a group drink at Cannery Brewing/Kombucha. Here we will have our group meeting for tomorrow's activities.
- The rest of the evening is for self care and bedtime.

DAY 4 - LEARNING ON THE LAND SESSION WITH ANONA FAWN KAMPE
- Breakfast of your choice will be enjoyed at 9:00am this morning.
- We will have a restful morning, opportunity to walk along the beach and enjoy lunch before we head to our activity.
- 12:00pm we will head to our special location for our Learning On The Land session with Anona Fawn Kampe.
- Our session with Anona will be about 3hours long. "Anona will work with the leader to bring participants outside to engage their senses. Studies have shown that when you engage your senses, you retain more knowledge. Outside, participants will learn about local plants, animals and landforms. Anona will also share what is harvested where and when and what it is used for. She will share the syilx Okanagan language called nsyilxcn of various plants, insects, animals, birds, place names and water structures."
- 4:00pm we are back at our campsite for rest, showers and cold dips.
- 5:30pm we head as a group to Elma to enjoy dinner as a group on the beach.
- 7:30pm arrive back at the campsite, we have time to reflect on today's learnings, enjoy self care and evening beach walks.

DAY 5 - RILEY ROCK & FAREWELLS
- Pancake breakfast will be provided by our leader Nicole, served at 8:30am
- 9:30am we pack up our gear and tents and check out of the campsite.
- 10:30am we head to Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park north parking lot, we begin with land acknowledgment and then hike out to Reiley Rock
- We will be walking for about 25 minutes to reach today's first climbing area. Nicole will set up the ropes and prepare the gear. If anyone is interested in helping and learning rope set up today is the day!
- 11:30am we begin our climb. Today we will have lessons on leading, cleaning and any skills that have been learnt this week.
- 12:30pm lunch time, at your leisure.
- 1:00pm climbing opportunities begin again.
- 3:00pm clean up of gear begins and we pack up and head back to the trail head.
- 3:45pm we arrive back at the trailhead, we pack up our gear and say our farewells.
- Following this time you are free to make your way back home.

- Your flight/transportation to experience location.
- Bringing your own additional snack foods.
- Spending money for souvenirs etc.
- Climbing Gear = rock climbing shoes, helmet (climbing rated, not bike or ski) and a harness.
- Other additional gear that you may need to buy to bring for the trip (a backpack, trail shoes etc.)
- 4 dinners (2 camping, 2 at restaurant), 5 lunches (packed on trail), 3 breakfast

The experience will run rain or shine with the exemption of wild fire in the area, extreme storm warning, major injury or death of the instructor. Confirmation emails will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the start date of the experience.

Transportation:
Participants are responsible for their own transportation, although carpooling is encouraged.

Run Like A Girl Adventures Inc requires travel insurance for all of our trip participants. World Nomads Travel Insurance is for independent travelers and intrepid families. You'd rather not think about all of the things that might go wrong on your trip, but these things can and do happen.
World Nomads travel insurance has been designed by travelers for travelers, to cover your trip essentials. Even if you run out of travel insurance or leave without it, World Nomads can cover you.

Your deposit is non-refundable (in all circumstances)
Once your registration form is submitted, an invoice for your trip deposit and remaining amount will be emailed to you. (This may take a few days to receive). You are able to make partial payments on the remaining balance. The remaining balance needs to be paid before 60 days from the trip start date. If you have not paid the remaining balance before 60 days of the trip start date then you are considered not coming and loose your spot on the trip. There are no refunds for any flights, activities, transportation or accommodations that have been booked holding your spot. If you have to cancel your trip for any reason there are no refunds available. All permits booked are non refundable and non transferable as they are sold on an individual basis to your passport number. If you need to cancel your within 60 days of the trip date and have not paid the final trip payment you are responsible for paying the remaining amount owed for the trip.
- All activities listed in the itinerary are subject to change due to weather and natural occurrences, however if one activity is removed another will be in its place.
- In extreme situations the trip is subject to cancelation due to weather and natural occurrences, this falls under an "act of god" and you are able to roll over your trip deposit to another trip within one calendar year.
