WHERE?

Kananaskis’ best-kept secret? Bragg Creek, Alberta. Situated in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains this charming hamlet is the perfect place to kick-off our trail running experience. Bragg Creek is home to world renowned trail systems making it a must visit for all trail users! Nestled in the foothills of the Rockies, Bragg Creek is a beloved Alberta treasure that is just a short drive west of Calgary.

While we set out for some amazing trail runs, we are going to experience some of the most incredible views, forests and nature that Kananaskis and Bragg Creek have to offer! We will be staying at the Beaver House, a log cabin, trail running, practising yoga and learning from Coach Keri! We come together to experience this adventure in a supportive, safe and celebratory environment.

WHAT?

A fun and inspiring weekend of trail running! Supported by our RLAG leaders and each other! This experience includes three trail runs, daily yoga, coaches talks with Keri Bowzaylo (your leader), accommodations and female empowerment through and through!

Our experience has been designed to welcome you, challenge you and celebrate you in many different ways! We will be physically and mentally challenged as we head out to run, see sunrises and enjoy the beauty of mountains. Most importantly we are empowering each other, celebrating us and HAVING FUN!

We will be talking and educating about our trail gear, trail and mountain safety, adventure planning tools and how to have a successful adventure with coach and leader Keri Bowzaylo.

  • April 25-27, 2025
  • This trip runs on a minimum of 6 participants
  • Registration closes May 10, 2025

WHO?

For our trail running community! A beginner to intermediate fitness level will suit this group as we complete three trail runs in three days. This is a female identifying only trip.

Please note, we do suggest that you have experience and are comfortable with running a flat 10km to get to most out of your experience. Pace = consistent movement.

YOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1 - ARRIVAL & SHAKE OUT RUN

  • Today you will be arriving in Bragg Creek and checking into our shared accommodations, The Beaver House.
  • Accommodations are included in the experience.
  • We will have a welcoming group meet and greet at 4:00pm
  • Together we will head out for an evening run - 5kms.
  • Dinner is enjoyed within your preference and we enjoy a restful evening as we get set for the next days run!

Accommodation: Included in the trip cost - The Beaver House

DAY 2 - LONG RUN & YOGA

  • Today we will begin with our group yoga session around 8:00am.
  • Following yoga we will meet at the trailhead to Powder Face Ridge for our long run. (Approx. 16kms - trail may change weather and conditions pending)
  • Lunch will be enjoyed on the trail today as we break for some spectacular views!
  • Our evening will be enjoyed with a celebratory group dinner at 6:00pm, our House.
  • 7:30pm begins our coaches talk with Coach and Leader Keri. She is going to dive into all things trail running and outdoor education.

DAY 3 - SUNRISE SUMMIT

  • Our morning kicks off nice and early for a sunrise run!
  • Breakfast provided and is enjoyed on the trail this morning.
  • Our run this morning is Prairie Mountain (approx 9kms - pending weather and conditions)
  • Once we reach the top of our trail, we will meet for a group photo and enjoy the spectacular sunrise, have time to reflect. You will have your choice of celebrating with champagne or juice!
  • We say our farewells and you are free to head on your way once we have completed our run for today and checked out of our accommodations.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

  • Your flight/transportation to experience location.
  • Accommodations beyond August 25 & 26 nights.
  • Bringing your own additional running snack foods.
  • Bring your own yoga mat.
  • Spending money for souvenirs etc.
  • Gear that you may need to buy to bring for the trip (a backpack, trail shoes etc.)
  • One dinners, one lunch, one breakfast
  • A Conservation pass is required to park at provincial parks and public use lands in the Kananaskis Country and Bow Valley region. There are two options for purchasing a pass; daily pass and yearly pass. Only one pass per vehicle is required regardless of the number of passengers. If you are entering on foot, horse, or bike there is no fee. We are staying at The Little Beaver House in Bragg Creek, AB.

Sleeping 2 per room.

Outside, enjoy a relaxing meal and conversation on the private patio while taking in the tranquil scenery of the pasture and forest. The Beaver house is also great for family gatherings, retreats (wellness, corporate, yoga, craft, etc), as well as for business meetings and events."

Please note you should arrive on the Friday evening in time for our group meet at 4:00pm.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Run Like A Girl Adventures Inc requires travel insurance for all of our trip participants. World Nomads Travel Insurance is for independent travelers and intrepid families. You'd rather not think about all of the things that might go wrong on your trip, but these things can and do happen.

World Nomads travel insurance has been designed by travelers for travelers, to cover your trip essentials. Even if you run out of travel insurance or leave without it, World Nomads can cover you.

PAYMENTS & POLICIES

Your deposit is non-refundable (in all circumstances)

Once your registration form is submitted, an invoice for your trip deposit and remaining amount will be emailed to you. (This may take a few days to receive). You are able to make partial payments on the remaining balance. The remaining balance needs to be paid before 60 days from the trip start date. If you have not paid the remaining balance before 60 days of the trip start date then you are considered not coming and loose your spot on the trip. There are no refunds for any flights, activities, transportation or accommodations that have been booked holding your spot. If you have to cancel your trip for any reason there are no refunds available. All permits booked are non refundable and non transferable as they are sold on an individual basis to your passport number. If you need to cancel your within 60 days of the trip date and have not paid the final trip payment you are responsible for paying the remaining amount owed for the trip.

- All activities listed in the itinerary are subject to change due to weather and natural occurrences, however if one activity is removed another will be in its place.
- In extreme situations the trip is subject to cancelation due to weather and natural occurrences, this falls under an "act of god" and you are able to roll over your trip deposit to another trip within one calendar year.
